YOGA IS FOR EVERY “BODY” !
The word ‘yoga’ is derived from the Sanskrit word ‘yug’, which means ‘to unite or to integrate’. Yoga is an ancient Indian body of knowledge – a philosophy and not a religion. Yoga is much more than getting yourself into twisted postures or balances! Yoga is about harmonising the body, mind and breath using breathing techniques, postures (asanas) and meditation.
It is said that over 2000 years ago, Patajali an ancient Indian sage, collated and codified the practice of yoga into a book called ‘Yoga Sutras’. This ancient scripture describes the 8 fold path of yoga which includes asansas (physical postures) Pranayama (breathing control) Dhyana (meditation)
Yoga works for everyone whether you are desk bound, a sports person, students, young or old. It’s for both men and for women.
A regular practice of yoga brings balance, helps strengthen the body, calms the mind and can improve self confidence. It can help make lifestyle changes with a reduction in anxiety and increased tolerance towards oneself and others!
